Nicole Moore Behrhorst founded Colorado Daisy® in 2018 following in her mother’s footsteps with the dream of making the world a better place while working with fun fabrics and drumming up creative solutions. Nicole’s mom, Ann Moore, invented the Snugli® baby carrier upon her return from the Peace Corps in 1964. At the time, it was the only soft baby carrier that you could wear on your front and it forever changed the way people parented and bonded with their babies. Inspired by the African mothers in Togo west Africa (whose babies were content, calm and carried all the time) Ann and her mother began a cottage industry with several neighbor women which grew by word of mouth into Snugli® baby carriers.

Today, Nicole lives in Evergreen, Colorado with her husband who was raised in Aspen and her three athletic boys. Freezing on the sideline during many games, Nicole came up with the Colorado Daisy® fleece hats and waterproof blankets to keep herself and other parents warm and dry. She rallied the help of her two sisters and a seamstress In Boulder who used to sew for her parents’ company. Together these women chose to focus on courageous girls for the company philanthropy. With the arrival of COVID-19, they joined the effort to produce masks and opened up their philanthropy efforts knowing full well that many nonprofits will be facing tough days ahead.

Happy to have her parents as their neighbors, Nicole and her mom have been busy creating a comfortable and protective facemask for every day use. While these are not medical grade and should not be used for such purposes, each mask is made with two layers of tightly woven fabric and is designed for errands and public outings.
